Rustic Little Girl Newborn Session | Cortland OH
Where do I even start?
Part of me doesn’t even care about words and just wants to load this blog up with all the images because this family is gorgeous and they were all the perfect little models today.
The other part of me wants to word vomit #allthethings, because The Shaffer’s are THE sweetest and dad and mom are freaking rockstars as life partners and raising tiny humans.
I’ll start with my fav pic of the day.
Haha! That’s Brett. He’s full on middle child, reaching his “terrible two’s ‘tude” at the ripe age of 18 months. He was VERY good for the family pictures and VERY disinterested in everything that followed. He does win best smile in the family shot, though! [insert heart eye emoji]
Mom, Casey, is still healing [she got her whole family fed, ready and presentable and was only 15 minutes late- which is on time in mom minutes… 6 days after having a baby! Can we get a round of applause?!]. Anyway since she’s still healing, she took pictures of Dad [Ken] and I wrestling two little boys for their sibling shot. They’re all in the picture and they’re both saying cheese, so high fives all the way around, right?
The rest of the session was smooth sailing. The boys played for a little and then Ken took them home. Before he left, he tag team tapped in Casey’s mom [Nahnee] as the help. And sheesh was she helpful! It was as if I had four hands, which is my dream for every session. But we got to casually talk and catch up while Emma snoozed away and sank into every pose like a legitimate pro-baby-model. Casey did NOT cure my baby fever by telling me how overwhelming 3 babes are, she said the opposite for her first week with three! At the beginning, when I said rockstar parents, I meant it. She’s beyond chill and so gentle with her two boys. Plus, her and Ken always vibe so well together when I have the honor to witness them doing their thing. I just can’t wait to see her become a girl mom- I’m already melting!
Emma slept in a bed, in a basket, her dad’s tool belt, she sported floral and represented her nursery decor in some peachy pink, of course I froze all her little details in time and she even let me grab a picture of her and my assistant for the day, Nahnee!
Today was all around a dream session and I feel so blessed to have families just like the Shaffer’s trust me with their most precious gifts.
Congratulations To Ken, Casey, Derek and Brett and welcome earth side baby Emma!
