Kenni has a long life of a protective daddy ahead of her!

From the minute Matt and Tara entered the studio to the minute they left, Matt was on high alert making sure I handled his baby girl to his standard. Baby Kenni [a family name - how precious & unique!] came in sleepy and barely opened her eyes the entire three hours. She had two little snacks, just enough to satisfy her little seven and half pound self, then went straight back into dreamland.

As soon as I saw Kenni’s birth announcement on her mama’s Facebook I COULD NOT wait to get my hands on her! I very rarely get babies with a full head of hair. And to her hairstylist mama’s delight, this girl has a FULL head of thick ash blond hair that couldn’t be more perfect on her tiny little head.

With only a few squeaks and grumpy faces here and there, I was able to transition Kenni girl into pose after pose so easily. We even got her into a lace body suit that here mama almost bought during her pregnancy [but I happened to have in my stock pile]. I’m starting to feel like my luck may be running out! 2019 has been full of well behaved, super sleepy babies; I feel spoiled by these tiny clients of mine! Anyway, Tara let me pretty much run the show with color choices, poses and patterns, but she did mention that her family loved my little wooden bed and that the nursery was done in browns and neutrals. Tan photographs beautifully and perfectly highlighted this little girl’s features so I spent a lot of time with Kenni chilling on my tan cloth drop and capturing all of her sweetness so that her parents can keep her little forever. She killed it for her bed pose, I switched her over to a teal bucket for good measure and finished off with a fan favorite- my floral cloth drop.

I’ve mentioned before, but I send two questionnaires prior to your newborn session. One helps you prepare, and one helps me prepare. My last session, mom had some technical difficulties so she didn’t read either prep guides. For this session mom doesn’t read emails so I didn’t even bother sending it- HA! Even though the steps and questions I send pretty much solidify full preparation on my end and a sleepy baby on yours, it just goes to show how flexible new parents can be with their newborn session. I can’t say it enough, the guides are my professional suggestions- not deal breakers! Be open with your photographer about what is working for you while your family adjusts to your new lifestyle.

Kenni Leighann has ten little fingers, ten little toes, a dreamy head of hair, edible cheeks and the most smitten new parents a little girl could have. Big huge congrats to Matt and Tara on their perfect little package!!
