Newborn Baby Girl + Pitbull Brother | Warren, OH
Born at six pounds even, nineteen and a half inches, Alaina Jade came to see me at just six days new. Babies lose a little weigh after their born, so this girl was teeny tiny at just 5 pounds and a few ounces during her session.
Ya’ll I’m a newborn photographer, I can’t ask people if I can keep their babies… that’s unprofessional…..
I asked Bobette if I could keep baby A! Her little five pound body fit perfectly in my hands and her black chicken fluff hair and cute little lips were callingggg to me! Her mama, unfortunately, told me no. Guys, just know that, I’m in the market for a fuzzy headed baby [that I don’t have to give birth to]…
Anyway, Alaina was so sleepy at the start of her session and we started her wrapped up like an egg, in a box. I grabbed some shots of her sleeping nice and cozy all alone, but then we did a few sibling shots…. with her pitty brother! One hundred pound [and one year old] Blue Nose Pit, Cade, was so sweet with his sis; he sniffed, nuzzled and drooled all over her for their pictures.
After a successful puppy/sister pose, we got everyone together for a family shot. Someone should have been there recording Cory and I trying to pose his 100 pound lug. Cade was dead weight, because he was afraid of the hard floors, but we managed to get his big head posed and looking towards my camera.
I like to tell all the happenings of these sessions; theses blogs aren’t just for me. They’re another way to remember the first few days of your new baby. Newborn sessions are an event, they’re a lot to prep for and they last several hours. You guys know I’m all about keeping it real, plus parents can look back at these blogs and laugh/cry/reminisce on the early of their baby’s life.
With that being said… Nursing is HARD [can I get an amen?]. Bobette and Alaina are early into their nursing journey and facing the same challenges with latching that a lot of moms face. Plus, with a tad jaundice, her pediatrician has her supplementing formal into her bottles of breast milk. Alaina woke up about an hour into her session, a little hungry. When Bobette went for the bottle, she realized she hadn’t brought any nipples! [A classic ME move, ha!]. Well, she had to try nursing and Alaina had a great latch! She got just what she need to feel satisfied, but big girl decided to stay awake for about an hour and hang out with us girls while Cory ran their pup back home [and got a bottle nipple, just in case]. During her awake time I got to chat a little more with my friend, have a little peak into her early days of motherhood [you’re killing it Bob!] and grabbed Alaina’s sweet detail shots…
After Cory arrived back, I gave baby girl half her bottle and finished off her session on a light sage color to compliment her skin tone and she did perfect getting into her poses.
I’m so happy for this adorable little family, and they couldn’t be better at adapting to parenting like pros! Congrats Cory + Bobette! <3
