Bold Baby Boy, Jude | Youngstown, OH
Jude and his family were absolutely wonderful. Dad, Dennis’s, sister contacted me to gift a session to to the this family for their soon-to-be newest member. It was a quick and simple process, unlike the session it’s self.. haha! It’s a common occurrence for newborns to come in with a sibling in the 2-3 year age range, so it’s natural for me to have to work those toddlers into a smile. Jude came with a big sister [Savannah! How about that :) ] and Savannah held onto a stone face for me right up until I clicked. Nothing that couldn’t be swayed with a cheese stick and some silly faces.
Following family pictures, I added a hat for newborn baby Jude, and did a quick wrapped pose on my faux fur. Jude’s nursery colors are grey, navy and mustard; so mom, Jalise, wanted to stick with those bold colors that complimented his skin tone beautifully.
After that, the easy work was done. LOL
I unwrapped Jude to get him into the bum up pose, but this little fella didn’t want to give up his pacifier, nor did he have any interest in laying on his belly. I quickly realized he wasn’t headed toward deep sleep just yet, wrapped him back up and snagged his detail shots while he settled in.
Soon, he was relaxed enough that I could adjust him into position with out disturbing him, still not quite asleep but resting calmly. His status stayed ‘rested, but awake’ for the rest of the session and I was able to get him into two more poses. You can see his little fists under his chin; he did what I asked of him, but on his own terms. ;)
I was surprised to be able to do the ‘womb pose’ or the ‘taco pose’, with his feet tucked under his little belly, usually baby needs to be super sleepy, but I actually think that Jude preferred it!
All in all is was a perfect session and this family was such an absolute joy to work with. Congratulations to you, Pixley’s!
