Baby E • Model Session
Baby E's momma, Gabriella, reached out to me on social media when I was doing a model call this past February. Her enthusiasm was contagious!
A model session is a session that has no financial obligation from the client, but the session theme, colors and style are left up to my [the photographer's] discretion and in the end the client can purchase images from their online gallery. I don't have a large portfolio of basket and prop poses with babies, so I knew I wanted to veto the beanbag posing for this one, but I really wasn't sure how I was going to style baby E's session!
The morning of her session, I had a smash sesh in the studio, with no plan and only 30 minutes between sessions, I quickly grabbed some greenery I made up for my own daughter's birthday party and scoured through by baskets and basins in search of something that would fit into a cohesive theme.
As I was shooting, I explained my plan [that had fallen into place just before they arrived] and let her know that I would be shooting with neutrals first, followed by pink and gray. Even with these free session fees, I want to make sure my client will walk away with images they want to hang in their home, so I asked if she had any preferences and I would do my best to accommodate that at the end... Turns out I didn't have to! Baby E's Daddy [also an awesome assistant that day] showed me pictures of E's grey and white room with pops of pink! #fate?
This little girl was sooo sleepy she let me do TEN poses in an hour and a half, without waking once! It was truly amazing. After I got the prop images I set out for, she was so sleepy we went for a froggy pose and it from there is was all smooth sailing, transitioning into some bean bag poses after all.
This session went so perfect; a huge thank you to my clients, Shane and Gabriella, for trusting me with your precious beginning!
